Summer is for swimming. New Zealanders love our rivers and want to be able to swim in them.
Over 60% of monitored river sites are too polluted to swim in. We can have strong rules that protect our rivers, lakes and streams. Strong rules that ensure that it is safe to swim in our favourite swimming holes.
The National Government has proposed weak rules that will not protect our rivers. We need your help.
Send a message to the National Government that our rivers should be safe for swimming. It’s easy to add your voice to the call by sending a simple submission on the Government’s proposal.
This map needs reformating so is easier to read. Map sources is http://www.mfe.govt.nz/environmental-reporting/fresh-water/suitability-f.... Used MAC not SFRG as SRRG has no readings in Waikato and Auckland because they haven't done SIC assessements. (MAC - E.coli counts. SIC - Sanitary Inspection Category. SFRG - Suitability for swimming grade MAC + SIC)
